Here\u2019s how.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Workers\u2019 responsibility&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Quebec, workers and employers share the responsibility for health and safety.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<em>Act respecting occupational health and safety&nbsp;<\/em>namely requires that workers be aware of the company\u2019s prevention program and &#8220;take the necessary measures to ensure their health, safety or physical or mental well-being&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They must also &#8220;see that they do not endanger the health, safety or physical or mental well-being of other persons at or near their workplace&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The employer\u2019s responsibility&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As far as employers are concerned, they must &#8220;take the necessary measures to protect the health and ensure the safety and mental well-being of their workers&#8221;.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list of their obligations is rather long. They must namely:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>make sure their establishments are so equipped and laid out as to ensure the protection of their workers;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ensure that &#8220;the organization of the work and the worker procedures and techniques do not affect the safety or health of the worker&#8221;;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;supply safety equipment and see that it is kept in good condition&#8221;;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>etc.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The employer\u2019s obligations cover every measure that must be taken to ensure the protection of workers.
